The holes were drilled, using the old insert as a template, countersunk and then the insert bolted in place. I clamped a big bit of wood on top of the insert and slowly raised the blade through the Al. All that remains to be done is to expand the slot to allow the riving knife to be attached. When I work out how to put an image into the comments I'll redo it. Well the ZCI has been cut to size and the corners rounded off.
